Spanish football legend Sergio Ramos has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with key shareholders to acquire Sevilla FC, the club where he began his professional career, marking one of the most remarkable potential ownership moves in modern football.
According to multiple reports, Ramos, alongside his business partner Martín Ink and investment group Five Eleven Capital, has submitted a formal offer estimated at around €450 million for the Andalusian club. This deal would see Ramos move from Sevilla icon to potential club owner, a transformation few in the sport have experienced.
Under the terms of the agreement in principle, Ramos and his consortium have been granted an exclusivity period to conduct a full financial review of Sevilla’s books, commonly referred to as a due diligence process, before any final deal is completed.
Sources say the early discussions have been positive, with initial meetings between Ramos, his advisors, and shareholders lasting over two hours. The talks reportedly focused on Ramos’s long-term vision for the club and his strategy for restoring stability and ambition at a club that has faced institutional uncertainty and sporting inconsistency in recent seasons.
Ramos’s connection to Sevilla runs deep. The Camas-born defender rose through the club’s youth system and made his professional debut there before moving to Real Madrid, where he won numerous titles including multiple Champions League trophies. He later returned to Sevilla for a second playing stint, further strengthening his emotional ties to the club.
The proposed acquisition would see Ramos replace existing leadership and potentially reshape the club’s direction off the pitch, though the takeover still depends on the outcome of the due diligence review and final shareholder approval. Should the purchase be completed, it would represent a historic full-circle moment for one of Spain’s most celebrated defenders.
