Alex Iwobi has delivered a powerful and revealing insight into the mentality of Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, describing the striker as a relentless competitor who thrives on intensity and refuses to back down, no matter the opponent.
Speaking on a Beast Mode Podcast, Iwobi painted a vivid picture of Osimhen’s fearless approach both in training and on the pitch.
The Fulham midfielder described Osimhen as a “true warrior,” highlighting his willingness to put his body on the line in pursuit of victory.
He noted that the forward regularly throws himself into dangerous situations in training, “putting his head or leg where others wouldn’t”—a reflection of his uncompromising drive.
Iwobi emphasized that it is this raw determination that sets Osimhen apart, revealing that the striker can “create chances for himself just through hard work and running,” often manufacturing multiple scoring opportunities in a single game purely through effort and persistence.
Perhaps most striking was Iwobi’s description of Osimhen’s mindset against any level of opposition. According to him, the Nigerian forward shows the same aggression and hunger whether facing elite defenders like Virgil van Dijk or lower-league players—approaching every contest with identical intensity and belief.
“He doesn’t care who you are, he will fight,” Iwobi explained, adding that Osimhen treats Champions League matches with the same urgency as casual street games, a mentality rooted in an unshakable desire to win.
Iwobi also admitted that this extreme competitiveness can sometimes spill over, even joking that Osimhen would “do anything to win” in training, underlining just how deeply ingrained that winning instinct is.
The remarks reinforce Osimhen’s reputation as one of the most intense and physically committed strikers in world football, qualities that have propelled him to elite status at both club and international level.
For Iwobi, however, there is no surprise in his teammate’s rise. With a mentality built on fearlessness, relentless work rate, and an obsession with winning, Osimhen is not just playing at the top—he is embodying exactly what it takes to stay there.
