Chaos at Real Madrid: Valverde Hospitalised After Explosive Training-Ground Clash with Tchouaméni

By Kazeem Ajibola Shoyebo

Real Madrid CF have reportedly launched an internal disciplinary investigation after a heated confrontation between Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni escalated into a physical altercation that left Valverde requiring hospital treatment.

The incident, first reported by Spanish outlet MARCA and later corroborated by other Spanish media, is said to have unfolded during Thursday’s training session at Valdebebas amid growing tensions inside the Real Madrid dressing room.

According to reports, the atmosphere turned hostile at the start of training when Valverde allegedly refused to shake Tchouaméni’s hand. The confrontation quickly intensified and reportedly continued inside the dressing-room area.

Spanish media claim Valverde suffered a facial injury during the clash and was later taken to hospital, where he received stitches. Reports indicate the injury occurred after he struck his head during the altercation rather than from a direct punch.

Club officials have reportedly opened disciplinary proceedings involving both players, although Real Madrid CF have yet to issue a detailed public statement on the matter.

The clash comes during an increasingly turbulent period for Madrid, with Spanish reports describing growing unrest behind the scenes following a disappointing run of results and mounting pressure on the squad.

Both midfielders are regarded as central figures in Madrid’s long-term project, making the incident particularly alarming for the club hierarchy ahead of a decisive stretch of the season.

The timing could hardly be worse. Madrid are preparing for a crucial El Clásico showdown against FC Barcelona, with tensions already high over the club’s struggles in major competitions.

Despite speculation over possible sanctions, reports suggest neither player has been suspended at this stage while the internal review continues.

What started as a tense exchange has now become a major distraction for one of football’s biggest clubs.

With pressure mounting on and off the pitch, the Valverde–Tchouaméni bust-up has exposed deeper concerns about unity within the Madrid squad—and intensified scrutiny on a season threatening to spiral further into chaos.
