Akor Adams’ Super-Sub Brace Rescues Sevilla in Elche Stalemate

Nigerian forward Akor Adams delivered an inspired second-half performance to salvage a valuable point for Sevilla, scoring twice off the bench in a dramatic comeback draw against Elche.

Sevilla appeared headed for defeat after falling 2–0 behind before the interval, prompting head coach to ring the changes at the break. Adams was introduced immediately after halftime in the 46th minute, and his impact was instant.

The 24-year-old striker pulled one back to reignite Sevilla’s hopes, showing sharp movement and composure to beat the Elche goalkeeper. As Sevilla grew in confidence and pressure mounted, Adams stepped up again, calmly converting from the penalty spot to complete his brace and bring the visitors level.

The comeback shifted momentum firmly in Sevilla’s favour, with Elche forced onto the back foot for long spells as the Andalusian side pushed for a winner in the closing stages.

Another Nigerian, Chidera Ejuke, also featured in the encounter, coming on as a substitute and playing the final 23 minutes as Sevilla searched for a decisive third goal.

Although the winning goal proved elusive, Adams’ late heroics ensured Sevilla left with a hard-earned draw, underlining the striker’s growing importance and impact as a game-changer off the bench.
