A heated confrontation erupted between Massimiliano Allegri and Cesc Fàbregas following AC Milan’s Serie A clash with Como, with the Milan boss sent off and later verbally blasting his opposite number in explosive scenes that spilled into the press-room area.
The incident stemmed from a flashpoint late in the match when Fàbregas, who had stepped outside his technical area, grabbed Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers during a counterattack, triggering furious reactions from the Milan bench and prompting Allegri to intervene in defence of his player. The referee subsequently showed Allegri a red card, while Fàbregas avoided on-field punishment.
Tensions did not end at the final whistle. According to multiple reports, including Italian media cited by TuttoMercatoWeb, Allegri confronted Fàbregas near the press conference area and unleashed a verbal tirade, reportedly calling him “a child” and “an idiot,” while accusing him of behaving like someone who had “just started coaching.”
The confrontation was witnessed by journalists waiting for post-match interviews, confirming that the row continued beyond the pitch and into the tunnel and press-room vicinity.
The fiery altercation overshadowed the 1–1 draw between the two sides at San Siro, a result that dented Milan’s title ambitions while keeping Como in contention for European qualification.
Fàbregas later apologised publicly, admitting his actions were unsporting and acknowledging that he should not have interfered physically during the game.
The clash has intensified tensions between the experienced Allegri and the relatively new Como coach, highlighting the emotional stakes and disciplinary consequences surrounding high-pressure Serie A encounters.
