Amorim Rejects Ferguson’s 10-Year Title Timeline, Backs Fernandes Ahead of Villa Clash

By Kazeem Ajibola Shoyebo

Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has dismissed Sir Alex Ferguson’s prediction that the club could be a decade away from winning the Premier League, asserting that the Red Devils can return to the summit much sooner.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa, Amorim acknowledged the legendary former manager’s concerns but expressed confidence in the current squad’s potential. “I understand Sir Alex’s perspective, but I believe with the right mindset and work ethic, we can challenge for the title in a shorter timeframe,” Amorim stated.

Amorim also addressed recent comments from club captain Bruno Fernandes, who had expressed feelings of being undervalued by the club’s hierarchy following interest from Saudi club Al-Hilal. The manager praised Fernandes’ dedication, saying, “Bruno is an example; he gives everything and puts everything on the line. In that, he is special. We need to step up to have more players like him.”
