Arsenal End 22-Year Wait With Title-Sealing Victory At Crystal Palace

Arsenal F.C. were officially crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace F.C. at Selhurst Park on the final day of the season.

The win completed a historic campaign for Mikel Arteta’s side, who secured Arsenal’s first English league title in 22 years and ended the season seven points clear at the top of the table.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Noni Madueke sealed the victory for Arsenal in a celebratory atmosphere as thousands of travelling supporters turned Selhurst Park into a title party.

The champions were given a guard of honour before kick-off, with Arsenal already confirmed as title winners after Manchester City F.C. dropped crucial points earlier in the week.

Arteta rotated his squad ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming UEFA Champions League final, but the Gunners still controlled large periods of the match. Sixteen-year-old academy sensation Max Dowman made history by becoming the youngest Premier League starter ever and played a key role in Arsenal’s opening goal.

After several missed chances, Gabriel Jesus finally broke the deadlock late in the first half, finishing confidently to give Arsenal the lead before Madueke doubled the advantage shortly after the restart.

Crystal Palace, who are preparing for a UEFA Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano, rotated several regular starters but still pushed Arsenal late in the contest. Jean-Philippe Mateta pulled one goal back in the closing minutes, while another Palace effort was ruled out for offside to preserve Arsenal’s victory.

The final whistle sparked emotional celebrations among Arsenal players, staff and supporters. Captain Martin Ødegaard lifted the Premier League trophy as Arteta received huge applause after guiding the North London club back to the summit of English football.

Arsenal finished the season with 26 league victories, the best goal difference in the division and a campaign defined by consistency, tactical discipline and resilience in the title race against Manchester City.

For Arsenal supporters, this was more than a final-day victory.

It was the end of a 22-year wait.

And the beginning of a new era under Mikel Arteta.
