Arsenal FC boosted their Premier League title charge with a commanding 4–1 victory over fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a one-sided North London derby on Sunday.
The emphatic away win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium underlined Arsenal’s superiority and extended their lead at the top of the table to five points, strengthening their push for the English Premier League crown.
England midfielder Eberechi Eze was the standout performer, scoring twice to put Arsenal firmly in control, while striker Viktor Gyökeres also netted twice to complete the demolition.
Eze opened the scoring before Tottenham briefly responded through Randal Kolo Muani following a defensive error. However, Arsenal dominated the second half, with Gyökeres restoring the lead and Eze adding another before Gyökeres sealed the victory late on.
Arsenal controlled proceedings throughout, creating far more chances and dictating possession, highlighting the gulf in quality between the two sides. Match statistics showed Arsenal registered significantly more attempts and shots on target during the contest.
The result marked a difficult managerial debut for Tottenham boss Igor Tudor, whose side struggled defensively and remained dangerously close to the relegation zone after the defeat.
The convincing derby triumph could prove decisive in Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title, with the victory relieving pressure and reinforcing their position as favourites.
With momentum firmly on their side, Arsenal’s dominant performance against their bitter rivals sends a strong message to the rest of the league that they are determined to go all the way in this season’s title race.
