Ademola Lookman scored his first La Liga goal for Atlético Madrid as the Spanish giants came from behind to beat RCD Espanyol 4–2 at the Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday.

Espanyol took an early lead through Jofre Carreras in the sixth minute, but Atlético responded as they steadied the game and overpowered their visitors.

Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth opened Atlético’s account in the 21st minute to level before Giuliano Simeone put the hosts ahead shortly after the break.

Lookman extended Atlético’s advantage in the 58th minute, heading in from close range to make it 3–1 and giving the Rojiblancos the upper hand — the Nigerian international’s finish marking his first league goal for the club since joining in the January transfer window.

Sørloth then completed his brace in the 72nd minute with another powerful header, cementing the win before Edu Expósito pulled one back for Espanyol late on.

The result ended Atlético’s recent winless run in La Liga and boosted their aspirations in the top‑flight standings, while Espanyol were left trying to halt a challenging stretch of form.

Lookman’s goal highlights his rapid adaptation to Spanish football, adding to his earlier scores in the Copa del Rey and UEFA competitions for Atlético Madrid this season.
