Bayern Munich have reaffirmed their full support for Jamal Musiala after the Germany international publicly disclosed that he has been experiencing brief, temporary absence episodes linked to a neurological dysfunction.
Speaking about Musiala’s condition, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl revealed that the club has been aware of the issue since last season and said the decision to make it public was Musiala’s own.
“We’ve known about it the entire last season. It was Jamal’s wish to communicate it. The players also knew about it.”
Eberl stressed that the situation has become part of the club’s daily routine, with Bayern committed to supporting the 23-year-old midfielder as he continues his recovery.
“We, as the Bayern family, stand together, will give him all our support and have already done so, and will continue to do so,” Eberl said.
He also explained that a recent change in Musiala’s medication contributed to the episodes becoming more noticeable, with the club now working to restore the situation to the way it was previously.
Head coach Vincent Kompany echoed the club’s confidence, saying Bayern have established procedures in place and remain “very optimistic” about Musiala’s condition.
Kompany also praised the midfielder’s progress on the pitch, noting that his recent appearances and performances in training have demonstrated that he is moving in the right direction.
The Bayern boss added that everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing Musiala return to competitive action, while emphasising that the entire Bayern camp remains firmly behind him.
