Bellingham Puts Real Madrid’s Collective Success Ahead of Personal Milestone After Reaching 50 Goals

Jude Bellingham has described reaching 50 goals for Real Madrid as a special achievement but insists the team’s success matters far more than individual statistics.

The England international reached the landmark during Sunday’s 3–0 victory over Racing Santander, scoring Madrid’s second goal in the 21st minute after being released by Arda Güler before rounding goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala and finishing into an empty net.

Reflecting on the achievement after the match, Bellingham said: “Reaching 50 goals with Real Madrid is very special. Not only for me and my dreams, but also for the team. It’s very important that all players score goals and make a difference in games.

“Sometimes it will be Mbappé, Vini Jr., Arda Güler, or me, but the important thing is that everyone helps the team. That’s the most important thing.”

The 22-year-old, who reached the milestone in his 154th appearance for the Spanish giants, also underlined the importance of Madrid building on their recent momentum rather than becoming distracted by individual records.

His goal came after Kylian Mbappé had opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute, while Yan Diomande completed the first-half scoring with a spectacular strike from outside the penalty area in the 36th minute.

Bellingham was particularly impressed by Diomande’s contribution, describing the goal as incredible and admitting he had not realised the Ivorian possessed such shooting ability.

“He’s a special player, and we are very happy to have him in our squad,” Bellingham added.

The victory extended Madrid’s winning sequence to six matches in all competitions, with the team scoring 18 goals during that run. It also followed their important El Clásico victory over Barcelona, keeping them firmly in the LaLiga title race.

Bellingham’s milestone adds another personal landmark to his Real Madrid career, but his post-match comments reflected the collective mentality he believes will be essential as the club pursues further success this season.
