Brentford Complete Signing of Promising Teenager Kaye Furo from Club Brugge

Brentford FC have officially announced the signing of 18‑year‑old forward Kaye Furo Tamuno Iyowuna from Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge, adding a highly‑rated young striker to their first‑team squad on a long‑term deal.

The Premier League club confirmed that Furo has signed a five‑and‑a‑half‑year contract following his transfer from Club Brugge for a reported £8.7 million (€10 million) fee, subject to international clearance and a work permit.

“Kaye is someone we have tracked for a while that we are really excited about bringing to the club,” Brentford manager Keith Andrews said in the club’s official statement. “His attributes are ones that I like and feel we can develop within the environment we have created. I have no doubt he will be a big player for us.”

Furo, a product of Royal Antwerp’s youth system before joining Club Brugge in 2017, has been recognized as a promising talent in Belgium. He made his senior debut with Club Brugge in August 2025 and featured in both domestic league action and the UEFA Champions League, including an appearance against Arsenal.

The 6 ft 3in forward scored his first professional league goal in the Belgian Pro League and totaled eight senior appearances across competitions in the 2025/26 season.

Furo’s heritage traces back to Nigerian football as the son of former Nigeria international Furo Iyenemi, who represented the Super Eagles at the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2000 Olympics.

Brentford’s acquisition of Furo follows a trend of recruiting young talent from Club Brugge — mirroring the club’s earlier transfer of Igor Thiago, another Brugge signing who has flourished at Brentford.

The teenager is eligible to represent both Belgium and Nigeria on the international stage, having appeared for Belgium at various youth levels including Under‑21s. [4]

Furo will now join Keith Andrews’ first‑team squad as the Bees aim to balance Premier League survival with long‑term squad development. His physical presence, technical potential, and Champions League experience at such a young age make him one of the most talked‑about young forwards entering English football this winter.
