Angélique Kidjo and Oualas to Host Star-Studded Ceremony Featuring Performances by Douaa Lahyaoui, Awilo Longomba, and Fuse ODG
The 2025 CAF Awards are set to take place tonight, November 19, at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco, commencing at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT). This prestigious event will honor the outstanding achievements in African football over the past year.
Leading the nominations for the coveted African Player of the Year award are Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain), and Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray). Salah aims for his third title, having previously won in 2017 and 2018. Hakimi seeks his first win after a stellar season with PSG, while Osimhen looks to reclaim the award he secured in 2023.
The ceremony will be hosted by Grammy-winning artist Angélique Kidjo and Moroccan comedian Oualas. Attendees will be treated to performances by Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, Congolese soukous legend Awilo Longomba, and Ghanaian-British artist Fuse ODG.
In addition to the Player of the Year, awards will be presented in categories such as Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year. Finalists include Yassine Bounou, Ronwen Williams, Walid Regragui, and clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and RS Berkane.
The CAF Awards 2025 celebrate excellence in African football, highlighting the continent’s top talents and their contributions to the sport.
