Chelsea in Crisis: Back-to-Back 3–0 Defeats Deepen Rosenior Pressure

By Kazeem Ajibola Shoyebo

Chelsea are facing a growing crisis after suffering consecutive 3–0 defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Everton, extending a worrying run of poor form across all competitions.

The latest setback came in the Premier League, where Everton cruised to a dominant 3–0 victory, with Beto scoring twice and assisting a third to seal a comprehensive win.

That result followed Chelsea’s heavy 3–0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, a defeat that completed an 8–2 aggregate elimination and exposed defensive frailties.

The back-to-back scorelines mark a significant statistical low for Chelsea, as they continue to struggle for consistency under manager Liam Rosenior. The club has now lost four consecutive matches in all competitions, conceding 12 goals during that run—an alarming trend that has intensified scrutiny around the team.

Reacting after the Everton defeat, Rosenior admitted his side lacked cutting edge despite periods of control.
“We weren’t clinical enough… out of nowhere, they score — and that’s not the first time,” he said, reflecting on recurring issues in both boxes.

Match reports indicate Chelsea showed moments of promise but ultimately failed to convert chances, while defensive lapses proved costly once again.

The defeat also raises broader concerns about Chelsea’s defensive structure and game management, with the team repeatedly punished for lapses in concentration.

With pressure mounting and results deteriorating, Chelsea now face a critical period in their season, as questions grow over whether Rosenior can stabilize performances and revive their campaign before it slips further out of reach.
