Cristiano Ronaldo Ends Boycott as Al Nassr Clears Debts and Restores Directors

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially ended his boycott of Al Nassr matches after the Saudi club reportedly paid all overdue salaries owed to staff and reinstated key Portuguese directors, according to multiple verified reports. The resolution paves the way for Ronaldo’s return to Al Nassr’s squad after he sat out recent fixtures in protest over club issues.

The Portuguese superstar withdrew from Al Nassr’s last two matches after raising concerns about unpaid wages and the club’s internal management structure. Sources including A Bola report that Al Nassr subsequently settled all outstanding payments to employees, a core demand behind Ronaldo’s protest, leading the 41-year-old forward to call off his strike.

In addition, the club restored the powers of chief executive José Semedo and sporting director Simão Coutinho, both Portuguese executives with close ties to Ronaldo. Their influence had been reduced earlier this season, a situation that reportedly contributed to the forward’s dissatisfaction.

The financial measures taken by Al Nassr reportedly go beyond salaries, with funds transferred to cover all club expenses through the end of the current season, including support for the club’s women’s team.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the resolution of these issues not only ended Ronaldo’s absence from team activities but also saw him re-integrated into first-team training, with an expected playing return in the Saudi Pro League fixture against Al Fateh next Saturday.

Ronaldo’s protest had drawn global attention amid frustration over a lack of high-profile winter signings at Al Nassr and comparisons with rival clubs in the Saudi Pro League. With the financial and managerial concerns now addressed, the Portuguese icon looks set to continue his campaign with the Riyadh giants as they push toward domestic and continental targets.
