Paris Saint-Germain stormed into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals with authority, defeating Liverpool FC 2–0 at Anfield to complete a resounding 4–0 aggregate victory.
Holding a two-goal advantage from the first leg in Paris, PSG arrived on Merseyside with composure and discipline, absorbing early pressure from a Liverpool side desperate to ignite another famous European comeback. The hosts dominated possession in the opening stages but lacked the cutting edge needed to break through the visitors’ organised defence.
The tie turned decisively in the second half, when Ousmane Dembélé stepped into the spotlight. In the 72nd minute, the French winger unleashed a clinical finish from the edge of the box, silencing Anfield and effectively ending Liverpool’s hopes.
As Liverpool pushed forward in desperation, spaces opened—and PSG punished them again. Deep into stoppage time, Dembélé completed his brace with another composed finish, capping a devastating counterattack and sealing a commanding victory on the night.
Liverpool’s efforts were further frustrated by a crucial VAR intervention that overturned a second-half penalty decision, a moment that summed up a night where little went in their favour.
Across both legs, PSG’s blend of defensive solidity and attacking precision proved too much. Dembélé, who had been wasteful in the first leg, delivered when it mattered most—his brace serving as the final blow in a one-sided quarter-final contest.
