Holding a two-goal advantage from the first leg in Paris, PSG arrived on Merseyside with composure and discipline, absorbing early pressure from a Liverpool side desperate to ignite another famous European comeback. The hosts dominated possession in the opening stages but lacked the cutting edge needed to break through the visitors’ organised defence.
