Désiré Doué: PSG Still Hungry for More Trophies After UEFA Super Cup Victory

Paris Saint-Germain forward Désiré Doué says the club’s historic success has only intensified the team’s desire for more trophies after PSG defeated Aston Villa 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup final.

Doué, who was part of the PSG side that lifted the Champions League last season, said the European champions remain highly motivated despite already reaching the summit of European club football.

“We are always hungry,” Doué said after the victory. “We want more, we want more.”

The France international said PSG’s desire to continue winning was strengthened rather than diminished by their Champions League triumph.

“After the final in the Champions League, we want more,” he added. “We are really ambitious.”

PSG’s victory over Villa provided another piece of silverware for a young squad that has already established itself among Europe’s elite.

Doué believes the team’s age is an advantage as the players continue to develop, insisting they are determined to challenge for every available trophy this season.

“We are a young team and we want to win everything this season again,” he said.

The 20-year-old also rejected the suggestion that PSG had already reached their ceiling following their remarkable campaign last season.

Asked whether the team could reach an even higher level, Doué was emphatic.

“Of course, of course,” he replied. “We always can improve.”

Doué’s comments underline the mentality within the PSG camp as the club begins another campaign with expectations significantly higher following its Champions League breakthrough.

For the Parisian side, the UEFA Super Cup victory represents not an end point but another step in an ambitious pursuit of sustained dominance in European football.
