Excitement is reaching fever pitch in Vancouver as the city ramps up preparations to host seven high-stakes matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026™️, including a group-stage fixture featuring African powerhouse Egypt.
With the official match schedule now released, Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium is confirmed to host a thrilling lineup of teams that includes not just co-hosts Canada, but also global contenders such as Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Qatar, New Zealand—and Egypt, who return to the world stage seeking to make a statement.
For the city of Vancouver, Egypt’s participation presents an extraordinary opportunity to showcase the African giants to local and international fans. The Pharaohs, led by top talents expected to feature from Europe’s elite leagues, will bring their signature flair and passionate fanbase to the Pacific Northwest, adding to the multicultural fabric of the tournament.
BC Place, the iconic 54,000-seat stadium, will host two of Canada’s group matches alongside five others, making it one of the key venues of the tournament. It marks a historic moment for Vancouver, with the city set to welcome tens of thousands of global football fans.
Killarney Park Training Site, Vancouver’s first official World Cup training venue, is already 95% complete and ahead of schedule. Meanwhile, construction of the PNE Amphitheatre, which will serve as the heartbeat of the FIFA Fan Festival™️, is progressing on time. Once completed, it will host live match viewings, concerts, cultural events, and fan experiences that reflect Vancouver’s vibrant diversity.
The official “tournament look” will begin transforming Vancouver’s public spaces starting winter 2026, with bold visuals adorning bridges, transit stations, and fan zones to reflect the energy of the World Cup.
