Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the departure of head coach Enzo Maresca, ending his 18-month tenure at Stamford Bridge. The decision, described as mutual, follows a period of internal tensions and underwhelming performances on the pitch.
Maresca, who joined Chelsea in July 2024, leaves behind a mixed legacy, having achieved notable successes but also facing criticism for the team’s inconsistent performances. His departure marks the fifth managerial change at Chelsea since the club’s ownership transition in 2022.
As the club prepares for upcoming fixtures, including a challenging match against Manchester City, the focus shifts to stabilizing the team’s performance and securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.
