Manchester City delivered a commanding second-half performance to defeat Chelsea FC 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, sending a strong message in the Premier League title race.
All three goals came in a ruthless 17-minute spell after the break, as City turned a balanced first half into a dominant victory that cuts the gap to league leaders to six points with a game in hand.
City broke the deadlock in the 51st minute through Nico O’Reilly, who continued his fine form by heading home from a precise delivery.
Just six minutes later, Marc Guéhi doubled the lead against his former club, finishing off a well-worked move to register his first league goal for City.
The visitors completed the rout in the 68th minute when Jérémy Doku capitalized on a costly error from Moisés Caicedo, dispossessing the midfielder before calmly finishing to seal the result.
Despite a competitive opening half, Chelsea struggled to match City’s intensity after the interval. A disallowed effort early on and a lack of cutting edge ultimately left the hosts exposed against a clinical opponent.
City, on the other hand, showed their championship pedigree—absorbing pressure before accelerating decisively when it mattered most. Their dominance was reflected in both control of possession and superior chance creation throughout the contest.
