Mbappé Renovates Public School in Father’s Cameroonian Village

French football superstar Kylian Mbappé has reportedly funded the full renovation of a public school in Bonendale, a community in Bonabéri, a district of Douala in Cameroon’s Littoral Region, through his philanthropic initiative, the Inspired by KM foundation.

The project, completed recently, transformed Bonendale Public School with upgraded classrooms, improved infrastructure and a newly rebuilt football pitch aimed at providing a better learning environment for students in the area. The renovation was fully financed by Mbappé’s foundation as part of its efforts to support education and youth development.

The community holds special significance for the Real Madrid forward because it is the ancestral home of his father, Wilfrid Mbappé, who was born in Cameroon before moving to France.

Reports say the upgraded facilities are designed to inspire students while also encouraging sports participation among young people in the region. The inclusion of a refurbished football pitch reflects Mbappé’s desire to nurture young talents while improving educational conditions.

The initiative adds to Mbappé’s growing humanitarian work across different countries through the Inspired by KM programme, which supports youth projects and educational initiatives globally.

Mbappé, widely regarded as one of football’s biggest stars and currently playing for Real Madrid, has maintained strong ties to his Cameroonian roots, frequently supporting community projects in the country.
