Morocco were crowned champions of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™️ after a dramatic 3–2 extra-time victory over Jordan at Lusail Stadium on Thursday night. The win marks another historic milestone for the Atlas Lions, who continue to make headlines in Qatar after their iconic semi-final finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup™️.
The final, played on Qatar National Day, capped a dominant tournament for Morocco, who entered the title match with the best defensive record, having conceded only one goal in five matches.
Oussama Tannane opened the scoring with a sensational long-range goal from inside his own half just four minutes into the match. Jordan, however, responded in the second half, with top scorer Ali Olwan netting twice to give the West Asian side a late lead.
Morocco equalized through veteran striker Abderrazak Hamdallah in the dying moments of regulation time. The Al-Ittihad forward then completed his brace with a composed finish in the 100th minute, sealing the win and Morocco’s first-ever Arab Cup crown.
The final concluded a vibrant tournament that featured 16 teams from Africa and Asia, played across six World Cup-grade stadiums. Jordan’s run to the final was historic, especially as the nation prepares for its FIFA World Cup™️ debut in 2026.
Morocco’s victory adds to a golden era for their national team, reinforcing their regional and continental dominance. The win also wraps up a landmark period for FIFA competitions in Qatar, following the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup earlier in the same month.
