Bukayo Saka has expressed excitement ahead of his first major final with Arsenal, as the Gunners prepare to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Speaking to Sky Sports in the build-up to the showdown, Saka highlighted the personal significance of the occasion, having risen through Arsenal’s academy to become a key figure in the first team.
“I’ve been involved in some finals but I didn’t play for Arsenal. So this is going to be my first,” he said. “I’ve come through the academy and to be in this position now… I’m very excited.”
The England international also pointed to the emotional appeal of winning at Wembley with supporters present, something Arsenal were unable to fully experience during their 2020 FA Cup triumph, which was played behind closed doors.
“The prospect of winning at Wembley on the weekend and celebrating that with the fans,” he added, underlining what victory would mean to both players and supporters.
The 2026 Carabao Cup final, set for March 22 at Wembley Stadium, marks Arsenal’s first appearance in a major final since 2020, as they look to end a six-year wait for silverware.
Saka, a product of the club’s youth system and now one of its leading stars, embodies Arsenal’s long-term project under Mikel Arteta, with the team competing strongly across multiple competitions this season.
With momentum building and belief growing within the squad, the final presents a defining opportunity—not only for silverware, but for a new generation of Arsenal players, led by Saka, to deliver success on one of football’s biggest stages.
