OFFICIAL: Nottingham Forest Sack Sean Dyche — Third Manager Dismissed This Season

In a dramatic turn of events at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest have officially announced the sacking of head coach Sean Dyche, just 114 days after his appointment.

The club released a terse statement early Thursday confirming the decision:

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach. We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.”

Dyche’s exit comes after a 0-0 Premier League draw with bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, a match in which Forest generated 35 attempts without finding the net — a frustration that ultimately sealed his fate.

Third Managerial Departure in Unprecedented Season

With Dyche’s dismissal, Forest have now sacked three head coaches in the 2025–26 campaign:

  • Nuno Espírito Santo – relieved of duties in September 2025.

  • Ange Postecoglou – lasted only 39 days before exiting.

  • Sean Dyche – shown the door after just 114 days.

That sequence now leaves Forest searching for a fourth boss this season as the club fights to avoid the relegation battle, currently sitting 17th in the Premier League and just three points above the drop zone with 12 matches remaining.

Despite showing some signs of resilience under Dyche, Forest’s struggles to consistently convert opportunities into goals and secure league points appear to have convinced owner Evangelos Marinakis that another change was necessary.
