Nigeria’s Head Coach Eric Sékou Chelle has released a powerful 28-man squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, with Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen headlining the list alongside in-form players like Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali.
The Super Eagles, aiming for a fourth continental title, will open their Group C campaign against Tanzania on December 23, followed by crucial ties against Tunisia and Uganda.
Coach Chelle has blended experience with exciting new talent, calling up debutants like Ryan Alebiosu, Usman Muhammed, and Salim Fago Lawal, while recalling Cyprus-based goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and striker Paul Onuachu.
Nigeria’s AFCON Group C Fixtures will see the team take on Tanzania (Dec 23), follow by Tunisia (Dec 27) and rounding up the group matches against Uganda (Dec 30).
Before the tournament, the team will face Egypt in a warm-up match on December 16 at Cairo Stadium.
