Osimhen Reveals Dressing-Room Rallying Cry, Praises Galatasaray’s European Representation After Juventus Heroics

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has revealed how he motivated his teammates before scoring the decisive goal that secured Galatasaray’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 at the expense of Juventus in Turin.

Osimhen’s vital strike at the Allianz Stadium sealed a famous European night for the Turkish giants and underlined his growing leadership influence within the squad.

Speaking during his post-match interview, the Super Eagles forward disclosed that he took personal responsibility to mentally prepare his teammates for the hostile atmosphere.

“I was highly motivated from the start. Before we went onto the pitch, I tried to prepare and encourage my teammates because I know how difficult it is to come to Turin and get a result. I’ve played here before and understand how tough it can be.

“Some of the players looked a bit unsure, so I kept trying to push them and give my best, but I can’t do it alone. I felt some of them were intimidated by the atmosphere and Juventus’ style of play.”

Osimhen, who previously faced Juventus during his time in Italy, warned that the Serie A side remain dangerous regardless of circumstances.

“I know this team very well, if you sit back and allow them to play, they will punish you.

“Even with 10 men, they can sometimes be more dangerous than with 11. There’s still a lot we need to improve.”

Osimhen: Galatasaray Representing Turkish Football With Pride

In a separate post-match interview with UEFA’s broadcast partners, Osimhen also emphasized the broader significance of Galatasaray’s qualification for Turkish football.

“Galatasaray are making a good representation for the Turkish League in Europe. We want to keep fighting, keep winning, and make our fans and the whole country proud.”

His comments reflect Galatasaray’s determination to re-establish themselves as a major European force and improve the international reputation of the Turkish Süper Lig.

 Thierry Henry’s Pidgin Surprise Moment

The emotional night also produced a memorable off-pitch moment when Arsenal legend and CBS Sports pundit Thierry Henry surprised Osimhen by speaking Nigerian Pidgin during the live broadcast interview.

Henry’s unexpected gesture delighted Osimhen, who responded with laughter and appreciation, highlighting the strong connection between African players and global football icons.

The exchange quickly went viral among Nigerian fans, further cementing Osimhen’s status as one of Africa’s leading football ambassadors.

Osimhen’s decisive goal and vocal leadership in Turin demonstrated his evolution from prolific scorer to complete team leader.

Beyond his finishing ability, his influence in motivating teammates and representing both Galatasaray and Turkish football on the European stage has made him indispensable to the club’s Champions League ambitions.

With Galatasaray now through to the Round of 16, Osimhen’s performances could prove crucial as the Turkish champions attempt to extend their remarkable European journey.
