With regular captain Mauro Icardi on the bench and vice-captains unavailable at kickoff, midfielder Lucas Torreira wore the captain’s armband and led the Yellow-Reds onto the pitch. After Torreira was substituted in the 79th minute, experienced İlkay Gündoğa received the armband and immediately offered it to Osimhen, only for the Nigerian to graciously refuse it.
