Outrage as Arokodare Suffers Racist Abuse After Wolves Match

By Kazeem Ajibola Shoyebo

Tolu Arokodare has spoken out after being subjected to racist abuse on social media following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace, describing the incident as “unbelievable.”

The Nigerian forward revealed he received abusive messages online after the match, prompting swift condemnation from his club and reigniting concerns about racism in the Premier League.

“It’s still unbelievable to me that we’re playing in a time where people have so much freedom to communicate such racism without any consequences,” Arokodare said.

Wolves immediately condemned the abuse, describing it as “abhorrent and unlawful,” and confirmed they had reported the matter to the relevant authorities and social media platforms. The club also pledged full support to the striker and vowed to help identify those responsible.

The incident follows a troubling pattern of racist abuse directed at footballers online, with players increasingly targeted after high-profile matches.

Despite the abuse, Wolves have reiterated their commitment to supporting Arokodare, while anti-racism organizations continue to call for stronger action against offenders.
