Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu scored a powerful header for his 16th Süper Lig goal of the season, but Trabzonspor lost 3-2 to rivals Fenerbahçe in a thrilling clash at Papara Park on February 14, 2026. Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu saw action and provided the assist for Trabzonspor’s opener.
Trabzonspor struck first in the 6th minute when Nwaiwu’s long throw set up Ernest Muçi to chip over Fenerbahçe keeper Ederson. Fenerbahçe responded with goals from Anderson Talisca (15′), Kerem Aktürkoğlu (34′), and Marco Asensio (48′), while Onuachu headed home in the 43rd minute from M. F. Løvik’s cross.
Onuachu’s goal marked his fifth header this season, helping Trabzonspor lead the league in headed goals (12 total). He leads the Süper Lig scoring charts, ahead of Victor Osimhen, despite missing time for AFCON. Nwaiwu delivered a commanding display, contributing offensively despite the defeat.
Fenerbahçe rose to second with 52 points from 22 matches, three behind leaders Galatasaray, boosting their title push. Trabzonspor trail by 10 points, denting their ambitions in the pulsating title race.
