Antoine Semenyo continued his fairytale start to life at Manchester City, scoring and inspiring a commanding 3–0 victory over Fulham as Pep Guardiola’s side moved within three points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The January signing was once again at the heart of City’s attacking dominance at the Etihad Stadium, opening the scoring in the 24th minute before playing a key role in Nico O’Reilly’s goal just six minutes later. Erling Haaland added a third before halftime to seal City’s 17th consecutive league victory over the Cottagers, an extraordinary streak that underlines their long-standing dominance in the fixture.
City’s latest win keeps the title race finely balanced with 12 matches remaining, piling pressure on Arsenal as the season enters its decisive stretch.
Reflecting on his blistering start in sky blue, Semenyo credited the environment around him.
“No secrets. I think it’s just being part of a great team, a great environment, the coach has been great, and they’ve made it easy for me to settle. It’s all a fairytale right now!”
The Ghanaian forward also addressed the intensity of the title race, a new experience in his career.
“It’s new to me, to be honest! I’m enjoying it, but obviously it comes with a lot of pressure, a lot of demands. I think we’ve got the team to do it. There’s 12 games to go, we just need to keep going.”
Since arriving in January, Semenyo has added fresh dynamism to City’s frontline, seamlessly blending into Guardiola’s system while delivering decisive contributions in crucial moments.
With momentum building and confidence soaring, City’s title pursuit is very much alive, and Semenyo is quickly becoming one of its driving forces.
