Super Eagles Eye Fourth AFCON Title as Provisional Squad Announced

Nigeria’s Head Coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 55-man provisional squad for the upcoming 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Morocco. The list features prominent players including team captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to commence their training camp in Egypt on December 10, where they will engage in friendly matches to fine-tune preparations. Nigeria has been drawn into Group C, alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.

Historically, Nigeria has secured the AFCON title three times: in 1980, 1994, and 2013. The team has also achieved five runner-up finishes and eight third-place standings, making them one of the most consistent performers in the tournament’s history.

The final 28-man squad will be announced in the coming days as Nigeria aims to add a fourth AFCON title to their illustrious record.
