SUPER FALCONS CONFIRMED FOR WAFU B FOUR-NATION TOURNAMENT AHEAD OF WAFCON 2026

Nigeria’s senior women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, have formally confirmed their participation in the West African Football Union (WAFU B) Four-Nation Tournament as part of their final preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the nation’s entry into the invitational competition scheduled to take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 27 February to 7 March 2026 — just days before the continental championship kicks off in Morocco on 17 March.

NFF Director of Competitions Ruth David confirmed that the reigning African champions have accepted an invitation from the WAFU B Secretariat to compete in the preparatory tournament, which will feature four teams all set to compete at WAFCON 2026.

The mini-tournament presents a valuable opportunity for head coach Justin Madugu to fine-tune his squad’s tactics, fitness levels and competitive sharpness ahead of the continental showpiece. Details of Nigeria’s full squad selection will be released by the NFF through official channels in due course.

The confirmed participants for the WAFU B Four-Nation Tournament are: Côte d’Ivoire (hosts), Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal.

All four teams have qualified for WAFCON 2026, setting the stage for competitive encounters that will test each side before the continental finals.
