Several Nigeria women’s national football team stars were at the forefront of their clubs’ new jersey unveilings ahead of the 2026 season in the National Women’s Soccer League, with Michelle Alozie, Chioma Okafor and Deborah Abiodun all featuring prominently in the launches.
Alozie was front and centre as Chicago Stars FC officially introduced their new home jersey, the “Chicago DNA” kit, a design created to celebrate the identity and culture of the city. The club said the kit draws inspiration from Chicago’s iconic architecture and skyline, incorporating bold patterns and structural design elements that reflect the city’s visual character.
According to Chicago Stars, the jersey also represents the grit, resilience and strong sense of community that define the city. Alozie’s appearance in the unveiling highlighted the growing influence of Nigerian players in the league while also reflecting her importance within the club’s squad.
Elsewhere, Super Falcons forward Okafor joined her teammates at North Carolina Courage in presenting the club’s new home kit ahead of the 2026 campaign. The striker also expressed excitement about the season following the reveal.
“I can’t wait to experience the vibrant stadium and feel that home-opener energy with our fans,” Okafor said during a social media interaction accompanying the kit launch, pointing to her anticipation for the atmosphere at the club’s opening home match.
Meanwhile, midfielder Abiodun played a central role in the unveiling of Washington Spirit’s latest jersey, named the “Spirit in Bloom” kit. The design forms part of the club’s branding for the upcoming season and was introduced as a visual representation of growth, energy and the club’s evolving identity.
The appearances of Alozie, Okafor and Abiodun in the launches underline the strong Nigerian presence across the NWSL, with the trio among several Super Falcons players preparing for the 2026 season in the United States.
