Moroccan giants Wydad AC confirmed their qualification in the CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Tanzania’s Azam FC 2–0 in their TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup clash, securing progression from the tie.

Wydad delivered a composed performance to claim the crucial win, scoring twice to ensure they advanced while keeping a clean sheet against their East African opponents. The result guaranteed the Casablanca-based side’s place in the next phase of Africa’s second-tier club competition.

The Moroccan club asserted their quality throughout the contest, controlling key periods of play and taking their chances to put the tie beyond Azam’s reach. Their defensive solidity also proved decisive, preventing Azam from mounting a comeback.

The victory marks an important milestone in Wydad’s Confederation Cup campaign as they aim to add continental silverware to their decorated history. The competition, organized by the Confederation of African Football, offers clubs across Africa a pathway to continental success and international recognition.
