Championship Standings
Despite the dramatic fallout and disciplinary costs, CAF has rejected Morocco’s appeal to strip Senegal of the AFCON 2025 title. The ruling confirms Senegal’s status as continental champions.
The sanctions are CAF-specific, they apply only to continental competition matches governed by CAF rules. No indication yet exists that these bans affect global tournaments such as FIFA World Cup 2026 — though speculation remains in some football spheres.
