‘Colour Doesn’t Make You Better’ — Guardiola Speaks Out Strongly Against Racism

Pep Guardiola has reaffirmed his strong opposition to racism, declaring that discrimination is a societal issue that goes far beyond football stadiums.

The Manchester City manager emphasised that a person’s birthplace or skin colour has no bearing on their value.

According to Guardiola, racism reflects a broader mindset in which individuals wrongly see themselves as superior to others.

He said racism exists everywhere and warned against reducing it solely to skin colour, stressing that behaviour and attitudes also play a critical role.

Guardiola noted that the belief in personal superiority—regardless of the reason—is at the heart of discriminatory thinking.

The City boss has been one of football’s most prominent voices on social justice issues, frequently supporting anti-racism campaigns and defending players who have faced abuse.
