Travel plans for Manchester City supporters heading to the Carabao Cup final were thrown into chaos after a fan coach caught fire on a major motorway, causing significant disruption.
The incident occurred on routes connecting to London, with reports confirming the blaze led to major delays along sections of the M6 motorway and M1 motorway—key corridors for fans travelling to Wembley.
According to Manchester Evening News, the coach was evacuated promptly, with all passengers and the driver safely exiting the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Emergency services responded swiftly to contain the fire, but the incident caused heavy traffic congestion, impacting hundreds of supporters making their way to the final between Manchester City and Arsenal.
Authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause of the blaze, though investigations are expected to follow. In the meantime, fans have been advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes as congestion persists.
Despite the disruption, many supporters have continued their journey to Wembley, determined not to miss the high-stakes showdown.
The incident adds an unexpected layer of drama to an already highly anticipated final, with logistical challenges now part of the matchday narrative for travelling fans.
