Kelechi Iheanacho crowned a brilliant night for Celtic by scoring a sensational goal in a 3-1 victory over Dunfermline Rangers to secure the Scottish Cup and complete his second trophy triumph of the season.
The Nigerian striker sealed the win with a superb solo effort, weaving past a defender and the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into the net at Hampden Park as Celtic wrapped up another domestic triumph under manager Martin O’Neil.
Celtic took the lead through captain Callum McGregor before Daizen Maeda doubled the advantage in the second half. Dunfermline reduced the deficit through Craig Wighton, but Iheanacho’s late strike ended any hopes of a comeback.
The victory secured Celtic’s 43rd Scottish Cup title and added another major honour to an impressive season for the Glasgow giants.
Iheanacho’s latest heroics continue a strong resurgence for the Super Eagles forward since his move to Scotland. After difficult spells in England and Spain, the former Leicester City striker has rediscovered form and confidence in Celtic colours.
The Scottish Cup triumph also marked Iheanacho’s second trophy of the campaign after helping Celtic secure the Scottish Premiership title earlier in the season.
