Durosinmi’s Scoring Streak Continues as Genk Let Three-Goal Lead Slip in Antwerp Thriller

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi continued his electric start to the Belgian Pro League season, scoring in his third consecutive league match as Genk were held to a dramatic 4–4 draw by Royal Antwerp at the Bosuilstadion.

The Super Eagles forward struck in the 48th minute to restore Genk’s lead after the visitors had recovered from an early deficit. It was another composed finish from the 23-year-old, who has now found the net in each of Genk’s opening three league matches following goals against Zulte Waregem and Westerlo.

Genk looked on course for all three points after building a commanding 4–1 advantage, with goals from Joris Ndenge, Durosinmi, Ayumu Yokoyama and Aaron Bibout putting the visitors firmly in control.

But Royal Antwerp produced a remarkable late comeback. Elias Tuypens pulled one back before veteran striker Michael Frey scored twice in the closing minutes — including an 88th-minute penalty — to rescue a point in one of the season’s most entertaining fixtures.

Despite the frustrating result, Durosinmi’s individual form continues to gather momentum. The Nigerian has now emerged as one of the standout performers in Belgium after his summer move to Genk, with his goalscoring consistency reinforcing the belief that he could become one of the league’s leading forwards this season.

The 23-year-old has already made a strong statement since arriving in Belgium, and if he maintains this level of confidence and fitness, he looks well positioned to challenge for one of the Pro League’s top-scoring honours by the end of the campaign.
