As Nigeria prepares to face Tunisia in a pivotal Group C match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is deliberately withholding tactical details to maintain a strategic advantage.
In a pre-match press conference, Chelle acknowledged Tunisia’s strength and emphasized the importance of adaptability. He stated, “Tunisia are a very good side, so I can’t reveal my plans now. We will remain true to our philosophy, but at the same time we will evaluate whether there is a need to adjust something in the line-up.”
Chelle hinted at two potential tactical approaches: either allowing Tunisia to control possession or adhering to Nigeria’s usual playing style. He remarked, “I have two ideas in mind: either we allow Tunisia to have the ball or we continue with our usual philosophy. I won’t say which option we will choose because Tunisia are a great team.”
Nigeria enters the match following a 2–1 victory over Tanzania, while Tunisia began their campaign with a 3–1 win against Uganda. Both teams aim to secure qualification to the knockout stage with a win in this encounter.
