Kelechi Iheanacho continued his outstanding start to life at Bursaspor on Saturday, scoring one goal and providing an assist as the newly promoted side came from behind to defeat Kayserispor 2-1 in the Turkish Trendyol 1. Lig.
Kayserispor took the lead in the 30th minute when Florent Hasani converted from the penalty spot, but Bursaspor responded after the interval. Iheanacho was at the centre of the comeback, equalising in the 56th minute before setting up Alperen Babacan, who completed the turnaround in the 77th minute.
The performance extends the Nigerian striker’s remarkable scoring sequence since joining Bursaspor. Iheanacho has now scored in each of his four league appearances this season, beginning with his goal and assist in the opening-day 2-0 victory over Bodrum FK, followed by goals against Iğdır FK and Fatih Karagümrük before Saturday’s decisive contribution against Kayserispor.
His opening-day display was particularly significant, with the former Manchester City, Leicester City and Celtic forward directly contributing to both goals in Bursaspor’s 2-0 victory over Bodrum.
