Italian forward Mario Balotelli has signed with Al Ittifaq FC in the United Arab Emirates, marking the next chapter in his long and eventful football career. The move was officially confirmed by the Dubai‑based club earlier this week, bringing an end to months of speculation over the veteran striker’s future.

Balotelli, now 35, has agreed to a contract with Al Ittifaq that will keep him at the club for the next two and a half years. He arrived in the UAE in January and completed his registration after undergoing medicals and formalities. The announcement was celebrated by the club on social media with a message praising Balotelli’s stature and experience.

The Italian played for several of Europe’s biggest clubs during a career spanning more than a decade, including Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool, among others. He also enjoyed success on the international stage, scoring 14 goals in 36 appearances for the Italian national team.

Balotelli’s last competitive outing came with Genoa in Serie A in late 2024, but he struggled for game time and was subsequently released. Since then, he had been without a club, prompting speculation about retirement before Al Ittifaq offered him his next opportunity.

Al Ittifaq currently compete in the top tier of UAE football, and Balotelli’s signing is seen as a major statement by the club as they aim to improve results this season. The addition of an experienced forward such as Balotelli brings both attacking firepower and global star appeal to the squad.
