Onuachu’s Brilliant Strike Seals Turkish Cup Progress as Trabzonspor Beat Başakşehir 4-2

By Kazeem Ajibola Shoyebo

Nigerian international Paul Onuachu came off the bench to score a stunning solo goal that helped Trabzonspor secure a 4-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday, advancing the Black Sea club to the quarter-finals.

The Super Eagles forward, introduced in the second half, produced a moment of individual brilliance to restore Trabzonspor’s lead and set the tone for the decisive win in the Ziraat Türkiye Kupası Group A encounter played at Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium in İstanbul.

With the victory, Trabzonspor finished second in their group on nine points to reach the last eight, while Başakşehir, ending with six points, were eliminated from the competition.

Onuachu’s strike continued his remarkable scoring form in Turkey, where he has been the Süper Lig’s most feared marksmen this season.

Trabzonspor now await their quarter-final fixture as Onuachu continues to spearhead their attacking ambitions this season.
