Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has described Galatasaray’s famous victory over Juventus F.C. in Turin as a defining moment, insisting the Turkish champions proved they can compete with Europe’s elite.
Speaking at the Allianz Stadium after the match, Osimhen praised his teammates’ courage, discipline, and belief.
“We came here with courage,” Osimhen said.
“Juventus is a massive club with a great history, especially at home. But we believed in our plan, we believed in each other, and we showed our quality.”
He also emphasised the magnitude of the moment for the club and its supporters.
“It’s a big night for the club and for our fans.”
Galatasaray S.K. delivered a disciplined and clinical performance, with Osimhen highlighting the tactical instructions that shaped the victory.
“The coach told us to stay compact and be brave when we had the ball,” he said.
“When you give everything for 90 minutes, you can achieve something special. Tonight, we did that.”
Despite Juventus applying pressure during key moments, Galatasaray held firm defensively.
“There were moments we had to suffer,” Osimhen admitted.
“Against a team like Juventus, you know they will create chances. But our defenders, our goalkeeper — everyone fought. That’s the spirit we need if we want to go far.”
Osimhen reserved special praise for the traveling Galatasaray supporters who made their presence felt in Turin.
“Our fans are incredible,” he said.
“Even away from home, they give us energy. This win is for them.”
While acknowledging the importance of the result, Osimhen stressed the need for humility and continued focus.
“It’s just one match,” he said.
“We have to stay humble and keep working. If we continue like this, we can make our supporters proud in every competition.”
He ended with a message that underlined Galatasaray’s growing belief on the European stage. “We respect every opponent,” he said, “but we fear no one.”
