Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen reached a remarkable personal landmark by scoring his 50th goal for Galatasaray in their 3-1 victory over Karagümrük in the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday night. The win strengthens Galatasaray’s position at the top of the league and highlights Osimhen’s growing impact since joining the club.
Galatasaray wasted no time asserting themselves, with Gabriel Sara opening the scoring early in the encounter. He capitalised on a defensive error by Karagümrük to slot home and put the league leaders ahead.
Karagümrük responded in the 27th minute through Barış Kalaycı, who curled a fine effort into the top corner to pull his side level midway through the first half.
However, Galatasaray regained control in the second half. Sara doubled the lead with his second goal of the evening before Osimhen put the result beyond doubt in the 55th minute. The Nigerian forward expertly controlled a cross from teammate İlkay Gündoğan and fired the ball into the roof of the net, taking his club goal tally to 50 in just 59 appearances. This milestone makes him one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the club.
Osimhen’s achievement underscores his importance to Galatasaray. Since arriving from Napoli in 2024, he has been both a leader and consistent scorer, playing a key role in the team’s recent domestic and continental success.
