Former Arsenal player Ashley Cole believes Arsenal F.C. have the belief and momentum to challenge for an unprecedented quadruple this season as the club continues to compete across multiple competitions.
Cole said the confidence within Mikel Arteta’s squad makes the prospect possible, pointing to the team’s consistent run of results and growing belief inside the dressing room.
“Why not?” Cole said when asked if Arsenal could win all four trophies. “The players seem to have some sort of belief. The manager has a belief and slowly but surely they’re winning game after game.”
Arsenal remain active in several competitions this season, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, keeping alive the possibility of a historic clean sweep of trophies.
Cole, who was part of Arsenal’s famous “Invincibles” side during the 2003–04 season, stressed that the key to sustaining the challenge will be securing the first trophy of the campaign.
“If they can continue that form nothing is impossible and they’ll have the feeling of getting the first one over the line,” he said.
“If they get the first win who knows what can happen. It breeds confidence winning a trophy.”
No English club has ever completed a “true quadruple” consisting of the league title, both domestic cups and the Champions League in the same season, highlighting the scale of the challenge facing Arteta’s side.
However, with Arsenal maintaining strong form and competing on multiple fronts, Cole believes belief within the squad could prove crucial as the season enters its decisive months.
