Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the current season when his contract expires in the summer. The announcement came through the Brazil international’s own social media message and was backed by an official club statement.
Casemiro, 33, has been a central figure in United’s midfield since joining from Real Madrid in 2022. Over four seasons at Old Trafford, he made 146 appearances and scored 21 goals. During his time with the club he helped Manchester United win the 2023 Carabao Cup and the 2024 FA Cup, earning admiration from supporters for his competitive spirit and leadership.
In his farewell message, Casemiro reflected on the arc of his time at the club, writing that he knows “when stages come to an end” and is choosing to say goodbye while he feels “remembered and respected forever.” He pledged to give his all over the final four months of the campaign for United’s goals, expressing “eternal respect and affection for Manchester United and its wonderful fans” and signing off as “Forever Red Devil.”
Manchester United confirmed that his contract will not be extended, and that supporters will have opportunities to honour his contributions before his departure, especially at the final home game of the season.
Casemiro’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter in his career, and follows a period of intense focus on helping United in their push for qualification in major competitions this season.
