Ivory Coast national football team have finalised plans for their base camp at the FIFA World Cup 2026, selecting a Philadelphia-area setup designed to reduce travel strain and sharpen preparation during the group stage.
The former African champions will anchor their operations in the eastern United States, with Subaru Park, home of Philadelphia Union, serving as their primary training venue. Situated along the Delaware River, the facility offers elite infrastructure tailored to international tournament standards.
To complement their main base, the team will also utilise WSFS Bank Sportsplex, giving the coaching staff flexibility to manage training loads, recovery sessions and tactical work across multiple sites.
The squad will be housed at Hotel Du Pont, just across the state line in Delaware. The arrangement aligns with tournament planning guidelines that encourage teams to separate living and training environments, balancing accessibility with privacy.
Logistically, the decision offers a clear competitive advantage. With at least two group-stage matches scheduled in Philadelphia, travel demands will be minimal—an important factor in a tournament spread across vast distances. Reduced transit time is expected to aid recovery and maintain performance levels between fixtures.
On the pitch, Côte d’Ivoire arrive with renewed belief after lifting the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 title. Under head coach Emerse Faé, the squad has undergone a measured transition, blending experienced internationals with emerging talent.
While progression beyond the group stage remains the immediate objective, the meticulous planning behind their base camp signals broader ambition. With favourable logistics, strong facilities and momentum from recent success, the Elephants are positioning themselves to compete with intent on football’s biggest stage.
