Paris Saint-Germain have officially completed the signing of Spain international Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the World Cup-winning forward committing his future to the French champions until 2031.
PSG announced the arrival of Torres on Saturday, confirming that the 26-year-old has signed a long-term contract with the club and will wear the No. 9 shirt.
Barcelona also confirmed that it had reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of the forward, bringing an end to Torres’ spell at the Catalan club.
While the two clubs did not disclose the financial terms of the transfer in their official announcements, Reuters reports that media reports value the deal at €50 million.
The move takes Torres to Paris following a highly successful final season in Barcelona colours and shortly after he helped Spain win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time of Spain’s World Cup final victory over Argentina, earning the Man of the Match award as La Roja secured their second World Cup title. PSG’s official announcement highlighted the achievement as a defining moment in the forward’s career.
His final campaign with Barcelona was also statistically productive. Torres scored 21 goals and supplied three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions as Barcelona retained the La Liga title.
The Spanish forward joined Barcelona from Manchester City during the 2021–22 season and went on to become an important part of the club’s attacking options.
PSG’s official profile records 207 appearances and 65 goals for Torres during his Barcelona career, during which he won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
The transfer also reunites Torres with Luis Enrique, the current PSG head coach who previously worked with him as Spain manager.
Enrique gave Torres his senior international debut in 2020, and the forward subsequently became an established member of the Spanish national team. He has earned 65 caps for Spain, according to PSG’s official profile.
Torres expressed his enthusiasm about the move, thanking PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, football adviser Luis Campos and Enrique for giving him the opportunity to join the club.
He said he was delighted to begin “a new adventure” at an ambitious club and hoped to help PSG win more trophies.
The arrival of Torres adds another proven attacking option to a PSG side that enters the new campaign as reigning European champions.
For Barcelona, meanwhile, the departure marks the conclusion of a five-year association with a player who arrived from Manchester City and developed into a versatile forward capable of operating across the attacking line.
