Portuguese giants FC Porto have officially completed the signing of Nigerian striker Terem Moffi from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on a loan deal until the end of the 2025/26 season. The move was confirmed on 30 January in an official club announcement by Porto.
According to FC Porto’s statement, the agreement sees the 26-year-old attacker join the Dragons on a temporary basis at no immediate cost, with an option for Porto to make the transfer permanent for a fixed fee of €8 million plus potential add-ons. In the event of a future permanent transfer, Nice will also retain 10 % of any future resale profit.
Moffi arrives having endured a difficult spell at Nice, where he had not played since late November 2025 following off-field incidents that saw him and others clash with supporters.
The Super Eagles forward was officially unveiled as an FC Porto player this week and has already begun training with his new teammates. He is expected to wear the number 29 jersey for the remainder of the season.
In comments shared on the club’s official channels, Moffi described his arrival as an emotional and proud moment. He thanked the Porto president, coaching staff, and fans for the warm welcome and expressed his desire to contribute goals and success in both the Liga Portugal and European competitions.
Head coach Francesco Farioli, who previously worked with Moffi during their time together at Nice, is believed to have played a key role in bringing the striker to Portugal.
Born in Calabar, Nigeria, Moffi has been a consistent presence in European football since breaking through with Lorient before moving to Nice. Internationally, he has been capped by the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.
Porto’s acquisition of Moffi adds depth to their attacking options as they pursue domestic honours and continental competition success during the second half of the season.
